a global collaboration of female artists

This special collection was made in collaboration with indigenous Mayan artisans of Guatemala. Each piece was designed by Sofia, then hand-woven by a skilled woman in her home in rural Central America, ensuring she is independent, gainfully employed, and carrying on the tradition of her people. 

The materials are natural and the process requires no heavy machinery nor produces any harmful emissions, allowing these talented tradespeople to work safely and on their own terms. We are honored to have employed this unique workforce in the global pursuit of creating beauty responsibly.
